Good Design Award 2023 Winners!
We are pleased to announce that our Tori and Cavo chairs, designed for 9to5 Seating, have won the prestigious Good Design Award 2023, beating out a large and worthy competition. This is an achievement that fills us with pride and inspires us to continue working with even more passion and commitment.
With models including guest, stool, and bariatric, Cavo is an adaptable high-design seating solution that delivers multipurpose convenience for all public spaces.
The inspiration for Cavo comes from the idea of combining visual and physical comfort together. Its shape is designed to create visual appeal and convey comfort through ergonomics. Cavo has many design accents that add to its elegance including an outer lower back element that hides the connection points of the back to the frame. This textured outer back provides a contrast to any upholstery while enhancing the visual appeal of the chair. Cavo’s contoured seat and curved back not only add appeal and flair to any workspace, but they also provide ergonomics and long-term comfort.
It’s engineered for durability and cleanability while being as reliable as it is fashionable. The wallsaver frame design prevents scuffing, while the edge-to-edge under-seat cover enables easy stacking. Designed for high-traffic environments, Cavo was created to withstand frequent thorough cleaning with healthcare cleaners and bleach. It’s also a game-changer when it comes to access thanks to a variety of weight capacity options.
Finally, the components are made from 60 percent recyclable materials and the final product fully espouses the practice of circular design. Right materials, few components, long life, design for disassembly, and low weight-these are the five criteria that are particularly climate, resource, and health friendly.
Tori is an innovative and impactful series of designer task chairs created with a focus on integrated design and functionality that is uncommon in the marketplace. The unique wrap-around backrest is more than a distinctive detail-it is the embodiment of functional, purposeful design. The curved backrest provides natural and designed lumbar support. An additional optional adjustable lumbar support is also available. Tori is packed with ergonomic features, including multiple synchronized mechanisms, height-only or 4D armrest adjustments, a seat slider, and accessibility options that support a wide range of users.
This chair embodies striking design-a true marriage of aesthetics and ergonomics for an elevated seating experience that goes beyond comfort and inspiration. Components are made from 60 percent recyclable materials and the final product fully espouses the practice of circular design. Right materials, few components, long life, design for disassembly, and low weight-these are the five criteria that are particularly climate, resource, and health friendly.
